1.    Why did J.R.D. Tata visit France so often in his young days? Why was he not able to continue with his college education?
J.R.D Tata visited France so often in his young days because he was born in Paris, France .he studied in different schools Paris, Bombay and Yokohama. Most of his education was in France .After school, he was drafted for a year into the French army and assigned to a regiment in France called Le Saphis.
He was not able to continue with his college education because his father called him back to India to join the Tata’s.

2.    Why was J.R.D.Tata known as the father of Indian Civil Aviation?

As J.R.D. Tata had great interest in flying he was inspired early by aviation pioneer Louis Bleriot, and took to flying. In 1929 Tata got the first pilot license issued in India, and became known as the father of Indian civil aviation.

3.    What were the different businesses of the Tata’s under the leadership of J.R.D.Tata?

For decades, he directed the huge Tata Group of companies, with major interests in Steel, Engineering, Power, Chemicals and Hospitality. And from airlines to hotels, trucks to locomotives, financial services, tea and air conditioning to cosmetics.

4. What were the different interests that J.R.D. pursued?
Having an avid interest in aviation, JRD also had a passion for cars, bike racing and car racing, skiing and literature.His core interest was the benefit of people, major interests in Steel, Engineering, Power, Chemicals and Hospitality.

5. What was J.R.D.’s reaction on being told that the government was considering him for the Bharat Ratna?
J.R.D‘s reaction when Indian government was thinking about giving him the Bharat ratna, ‘why me? I don’t deserve it. The Bharat Ratna is usually given to the people who are dead or it is given to politicians. I am not prepared to oblige the government on the former and I am not the latter.
