2.       What do you about Hi-tech industry? Explain why products manufacturing in Hi- tech industries are growing rapidly?
Hi-tech industries involve making and using silicon chips, computers, semi conductor devices and computer controlled machinery.
Hi-tech industries have been growing rapidly. Usually these industries do cluster together in some areas. One of the earliest concentrations of Hi-tech industry was in ‘Silicon valley’ near San Francisco, in the USA, and still one of the most important location.
3.      Write a note on Silicon Valley in California.
Hi-tech industry in ‘Silicon valley’ USA, has grown 50 km stretch of California. Companies involved in research, development and manufacturing of micro-electronics are present here. Many software companies, internet related business, companies involved in the field of biotechnology and aerospace are here. In this area the average incomes are amongst the highest in the USA. Property prices are very high and roads are very busy and congested.

5.      Give a brief description about ‘Silicon valley of India’.
Bangalore, in Indian state of Karnataka, is one of India’s largest industrial cities. Many industrial products such as aircraft, batteries, watches and railway wagons are manufactured here. In 1991 a software technology park was created and since then a number of multinational IT companies have set up their offices in Bangalore. It is the most important hardware and software centre of India and is known as the IT capital of India or Silicon Valley of India.


6.      State the reasons for the growth of Hi-tech industries in Bangalore.
