Year 5 - English - 24.1.14

Mr. Zuckerman told Lurvy to paint the crate green and write on it with golden colour ‘Zuckerman’s Famous Pig.’

Meanwhile Templeton searched around the dump for new word to be woven on the web. He brought the word ‘crunchy’ Charlotte dislikes the word crunchy as it would make Mr. Zuckerman think about crisp, crunchy bacon and tasty ham. Templeton then brought the word’ Pre- shrunk’. Again Charlotte dismisses the word as she didn’t want Zuckerman to think Wilbur as nicely filled and not all shrunk up. Finally Templeton brought a soap box on which it ‘radiant’ was written. Charlotte chose this word as she thought Wilbur to be radiant.
Wilbur was not feeling sleepy so he asked Charlotte to tell stories. Charlotte told him a story about her cousin who built a web across a stream a tiny fish got stuck in the web. Wilbur was surprised to listen how her cousin managed to wrap and eat it. I spite of the fish thrashing wildly, Charlotte’s cousin slipped in, dodged out yet threw threads around the fish and finally succeeded.
Charlotte then told another story about her other cousin who was an aeronaut. One of her cousins was a balloonist who stood on her head and let enough thread to form balloon. Then she would let go the thread and be lifted in the air. Wilbur was amused and surprised to listen to different stories and slowly dozed to sleep.
