Year 7 - English - 14.5.14

Summary of All the World’s a stage
All the World’s a Stage is a simple poem which explains that the entire world is a stage & all women and men are just actors acting various roles. Each one of us has our entrances and exits & throughout our lives we play many roles.
A man’s life is separated into 7 acts. In its 1st act a man is like an infant, puking and whimpering in his nurse’s arms. After that he is like a naughty schoolboy with a school bag and young face, who is always unwilling to go to school and creeping like a snail. Then when he grows up he becomes someone’s lover puffing and huffing like a furnace writing sad poetries for his mistress’s eye-brows.
In his 4th act he become a soldier who looks like a beard like panther, who is full of energy and always quick to fight and eager to defend his enemies. In the 5th act a man becomes a judge who accepts all sorts of bribes and looks like a person with a fat belly.
He has a beard with respectable cut & his eyes become stern. He has all the entertaining stories & all the possible wise sayings to best play his role. In the 6th act the curtains falls down over a skinny old man wearing slippers, spectacles on his nose, money bag in his hands. He wore stockings that hardly fit into his shrivelled legs & his bellowing voice shrunk down like a childish squeak.
Then comes the 7th act which is the last act of the entire strange and eventful history. In the 7thact is the act of forgetfulness. In this act the man enters his 2nd childhood where he is without taste, without eyes, without teeth & without everything.
This stage is considered as the last stage of a man’s life. This stage transforms him from old to the oldest age. This period is strange as it is full of strange events. A man again becomes a child and his life comes to an end. This stage is also known as his 2nd childhood. He behaves like a child. By this stage he completes all the roles & leaves the stage.
