Yr 5 –Science

Make a ‘Herbarium’ – collection of leaves of different shapes.

How to make it ?

Hints:

a)      When ever you find an attractive leaf of different shape, pluck it.

b)     Collect at least 10 different leaves of different shapes.

c)       Keep each leaf between the pages of a thick book.

d)      Just leave the book(s) on your table.  Allow it to stay there for about two to three weeks until each leaf is completely dried and becomes flat like a paper. Never make any effort to put the book(s) in the hot sun.

e)      Take out all the leaves one by one carefully and paste them with the help of glue  on A4 size Chart-papers ( one  or two on each paper – depending  on the size of the leaf )

f)      Connect all the chart papers together and make it as a folder- your herbarium is ready !!!.
